Family Finances and Humility

Often, men feel that their masculinity is diminished if they relinquish the household finances to their wives. This is not true. A true man will recognize his own limitations and humbly take advantage that he has a wife, and allow her to complement (Genesis 2:18) him and do what she is good at that he is not (This post is written under the assumption that the wife is good at handling the day to day operations of a household, including the responsible use of the family money (1 Timothy 3:11 1 Timothy 5:14) while the husband has difficulty refraining from whimsical spending).

I'm going to take my son out for a father/son day. We are going to Home Depot to build something, then will ride a local train, have lunch, and do some puzzles at home. These are the things that children cherish and remember, not the video games or toys we give them.

Follow up on the Three Pillars of Human Society

Here is the original article that I wrote.

I was explaining this concept to someone recently and it dawned on me that there is more to this than I once thought. First, the Three Pillars, Religious, Political, and Economic, are the means by which mankind has based his governments for the last 6,000 years or so. The religious pillar represents the various religions of the world over the ages. Governments obtained their authority from this pillar for most of mankind's history. During this time, rulership can be summed up this way, "why should the people listen to you? A: Because God/the gods say so."

Going to School and Working

Ok...It's been about 18 months since my last post. I went ahead and put the new card info into the system and now I'm back. What's happened since I last posted?

I got married March 20, 2010

I went to Alaska the last week of May

Now...I am settling down, getting my BS degree in Business Administration, and trying to raise my family. Just finished landscaping my back yard (well, I got a little more to do this fall). Thinking about putting in some landscape lighting in my front yard. My wife has done a wonderful job of decorating our home. She has great style. I swear that without her my life would be quite tragic.
