UPDATE: The British citizen was found guilty, and given the sentence of 15 days in prison and deportation. It seems that the Sudan court was attempting to find a balance between US and British concerns and internal pressures.

I read about statements from the US and Britain being outraged about the verdict. It could have been much worse, and now the matter can be dropped. Political grandstanding will always be with us, even when it makes no difference...
