I did a couple posts on the Columbine Massacre video game several months ago. I had imagined going in that some profit-hungry huge amoral organization was behind it. To my surprise, its creator was a single individual who imagined that the game was a statement against violence! (because the 2 perpetrators lost, in the end)

Lending credibility to his motive was the fact that he hadn't made money on it. He'd made the game freely downloadable.

Go figure.
